Reigning Tasmanian Roller Derby Champions
The Convict City Rollers (CCR) are a skater owned and managed roller derby league made up of women and men passionate about Roller Derby. We are the first incorporated Roller Derby league to be formed in Hobart and run on the dedication and commitment of our members and supporters.
The Convict City Roller Derby League Inc. was incorporated as an association under the Tasmanian Incorporations Act 1964 in December 2009. We have a Board of management that looks after the administration and running of the League so that members get the best out of their Roller Derby experience. The Board is comprised of ten members who are nominated and voted in by the members on an annual basis.
Our current Board includes a Public Officer, Treasurer, Secretary, Business Co-ordinator, Events & Marketing Co-ordinator, Training and Coaching Co-ordinator, Sponsorship & Fundraising Officer, Member Relations Officer, Freshmeat Co-ordinator and Referee representative. We operate under a Constitution, or set of rules, that have been agreed by the Board and a Code of Conduct which are reviewed annually by members at the AGM.
We follow the WFTDA rules for flat track roller derby and our vision is;
'Convict City Rollers is an empowered and socially inclusive sporting community. We value passion and team spirit and are dedicated to uniting people through feisty and flamboyant flat-track roller derby.'
While Roller Derby is the a full contact sport for female teams, we encourage guys to join and actively skate to become referees, coaches and/or officials. All members are able to opt to participate in these important roles rather than actively compete as well.
